Hi,
I?m looking for some information on Ford Radios, namely the latest Ford 6000CD fitted to the latest Fiesta/Focus/S-Max/Galaxy/Mondeo/Transit?. It is not the Sony unit, rather the Ford unit but it is the one with the large CENTRAL rotary volume control. It isn?t the older 6000 units where the volume is at the side.
Could anybody please advise me if they have a silver version and if so, what colour it is illuminated at night?
I know that the Silver version is fitted to the S-Max/Galaxy and is illuminated orange but would like to know if the silver version was fitted to any other cars with a different colour of illumination (most fords are green).
So if you have a Silver 6000CD with the large central rotary control, please let me know either way.
Thanks for your help.

Alternatively, if somebody could advise what pins in the rear of the stereo I need to put the live and ground to so I can trun it on and see that would be good also!!! I haven't got a Ford (yet) but need to know what colour the stereo is when it's illuminated.
Thanks

Well, I've had to take a chance else the 6000 was going to go. Worst case is I can sell the unit on Ebay.
Chap who sold it to me is well known to me and deals in a lot of secondhand car stuff and gear from total loss cars (nothing stolen I hasten to add). He has confirmed that the unit works fine but can't remember what colour it is illuminated when it is turned on.
I've just looked on the Ford website and all the units that look like this one (silver) are either from an S-max or Galaxy, the 6000's in the Focus/Fiesta are black not silver. That got me thinking, maybe this 6000 is illuminated orange and not green. If so, result!!!
However, until I get my Ford I can't check because I can't power it up. Is there any way that you can tell what colour of illumination it has from the part number?
It is 6M2T-18C815-AF, Model SINGLECD-GGDS (the SINGLECD-GGDS is coloured orange if that means anything).
Any help, most welcome.

I'm surprised that noone can help you. Alas, my Ford radio knowledge only extends to the 7000 radio/tape player in my old Mondeo which doesn't have a screen display at all these days - it's all done by guesswork*, and SWMBO's 52 Focus that has the 6000 radio/CD which is the type with the button on the left and green display.
* anyone got a cure for this? It's just one of the 2 dozen or so annoying little faults with the car.

Hi
Mine is a CD6000 unit in a 56 Fiesta Freedom. It has the silver centre knob and the unit is a sort of dark grey in colour. The illumination on the unit is green. I think Ford have pickies of this unit on their microsite detailing the Freedom special edition if i remeber correctly.
