I've had to change my rear brake lights 3 times in the past 200 miles, every single other bulb works fine as does every other electrical item. The blown bulbs look blackas if 20v as just gone through them.
What could be causing this problem? A dodgy alternator? The car is a 1.1 Fiesta if so I am just going to have to live with it, its not worth getting repaired. Or could their be a simple explanation for it? The bulbs are made by Ring and bought from my local petrol station.

Try a different source and make of bulb. If these are the only bulbs giving problems, then a dodgy batch is the likeliest cause.

Thanks :). I might drive down to my grandmas and take the bulbs out of my dads SORNED escort which is kept in her garage, no other shops will be open at this time.
My mutli-meter has gone so I cannot test for over volting. Two of the bulbsI had to replace where already in the car when I bought it, however the last one I put has lasted 2 days.

Fixed it now, my dad went over a speed bump a bit too fast before and it probably unseated the bulb, I just took it out and put it back in again and it works fine.
