On the basis that you are 'never to old to learn'...I have been motoring for in excess of 45 years...I have only recently discovered that it is actually cheaper with the majority of car insurers to have an additional driver on the policy e.g. a spouse or other 'mature' relative who has a clean driving record irrespective that they may never actually drive your car.
Only found this out yesterday following an on-line quote when I discovered that it was £28 less if my wife was a named driver.
When I checked this out with the particular insurers they confirmed stating that if I was the sole driver I would be considered a higher risk re (quote) 'Jack The Lad and a Boy Racer' (Iam 63!)
I'm sure the insurance industry must have carried out some highly scientific research to warrant their statistics but it seems unfair to penalise single drivers but on the plus side I wonder if polygamists enjoy cheaper insurance cover!
