Have a fiesta 1.4 TDCI for past year and a half, its 2002 zetec model and bought it from a main dealer with warranty. After 5 months there was trouble starting from cold, unstable idling and acceleration problems, after 6 weeks with dealer they replaced 4 injectors (JAN06) and records had shown these had been replaced previously. Roll on October 2006, same problems reoccuring, brought to dealer again in november and this time 3 injectors replaced FOC, but no further investigation or interest in possible underlying problem. Car running fine again but expecting a reoccurance and getting stung for new injectors at some stage, would like to keep the car, but have a lack of confidence. Any suggestions as to the underlying problem? I think 2002 was the first of the TDCI fiestas so maybe a design fault or ECU issue? mostly use tesco diesel in it (if thats makes any difference) any help appreciated.
Thanks

How many miles is the vehicle now on? When it was in the dealers for 6 weeks, did they change anything else? Were there any diagnostic codes?
Going on the information given, the injectors might be being fed swarf or similar foreign matter from the fuel pump, which itself could have been damaged following a mis fuelling (with petrol) earlier in the vehicles life.
However, I am at loss as to what action to suggest, other than moving the vehicle on.
