Not motors! - Bill Doodson
Sorry folks its nothing to do with motoring at all, but does anyone know where I can get a small PBX phone system that uses ordinary phones. I want 2 lines in and 8 extensions, nothing fancy and I dont want to spend 100s on it. I know many of you run your own small businessess and you may be able to point me in a direction.

Depends whether you want to do your own installation or not. If not, it's worth asking BT, as the phone world is full of get-rich-quick merchants.

BT do a single telephone capable of this functionality.

I don't use them, but I can probably find out the relative merits if you wish.

One system worth knowing about is at www.robsontelecom.com. 2 in, 4 out plus 4 virtual lines. It can direct all unregistered withheld numbers to a message saying reveal your number or no reply (or similar). Great for sales calls! It seemed reasonable value for money, but I was too tight to buy new, and will continue looking in small ads for a s/h bargin.
