Pedal it around town to recharge the batteries, then switch to battery power out on the open road.
Can't see it catching on somehow.

would weigh in nice..............£800 a tonne clean so, should get about £50 for it. and you could cycle it there so no greenhouse gasses used, then go to the pub and help the hop growers :-)

Goddam new Priuses everywhere today, one even doing a diabolical right turn into Campden Hill Road from the middle lane coming from Holland Park Avenue towards Notting Hill Gate and London , if that means anything to anyone... Of course this kind of thing may be another of their politically-inspired privileges.
Must say I fancy the fast hybrid Lexus. HJ seems to like it too.

Actually having looked at the pedal car and read the blurb, I must say it looks a good idea given the obesity figures, for those under 65 (he added hastily).
I notice the tasteful cutaway drawing was too tasteful to show the pedals (or 'unmentionables') though. Perhaps it was feared that the sight would inspire fear.

Why does Sir Clive sinclair spring to mind?
Actually, I wish I'd bought a few of those when they were flogging them off for fifty quid. Must be worth a bit now.

A sure fire winner, just look at how well the Sinclair C5 has caught on.

Lose a couple of wheels, ditch the inefficient hydraulic drive in favour of a chain, throw away the bodywork and you might have a serviceable bicycle. Or is that what they mean by a "collapsible track system" ??

I think if it was light enough to make it not too much of a strain to use, it could work in some areas.
Id certainly use something like it for getting around locally in the summer as I like cycling anyway.
I think weight would make it or break it, as would complexity.
Make it simple and cheap, then its a possibility.

It looks like the sort of vehicle lots of people say they would use, but when it came to laying their cash on the table very few actually would. A bicycle would be cheaper, more practical, easier to store and you wouldn't get kids running after you and jeering.

Not to mention being overtaken by prams and old folk jeering saltily as they zoomed past on their Zimmer frames....
