Has anyone found worthwhile info on the web to assist in stripping down diesel injector pumps?
I would normally fit an exchange unit if needed on a modern car but have a spare pump (u/s due to diesel leaks) for the old Land Rover and would like to have a fiddle.
The search engines don't seem to turn up much.

David,
Is your spare pump an "in-line" type, possibly made by CAV ? In the engine manual for my Toyota Masterace, there are 41 pages devoted to the dismantling, overhauling & calibration of the pump. This pump is a "radial" type and, so I understand, is fitted to many Toyota models, ie, Camry, Hiace etc etc but, this information is probably not much use to you when contemplating dismantling a LR pump. I see that Haynes have a relatively new book covering passenger car diesel maintenance. I wonder if there is anything in there which might help or, would Marshalls (There's probably a branch near to Ramsey) let you have a look at one of their workshop manuals ?

John,
I'm really looking for something that is more specific to the old "DPA" pump from the 60s onwards.
I do have contacts for info but they are a little more involved than looking at a website in the comfort of the "office".
Diesel pump overhaul is regarded as something of a secret art by specialists.
