Does anyone have experiences (good or bad) of the "we come to you" scratch/chip repair businesses?
And whose silly idea was it to paint bumpers anyway :>)

Terry,
Quite right. I've said it before but bumpers are for bumping. I'll never buy a car without black ones, or at least a decent broad rubber insert.
(Someone remind me of this when you gather I have a car with acres of delicate paint in the contact zone)

I've got black ones but they started off green. It seems that the ladies around here all drive very big MBs that they cannot see the end of.
Talking about colour coded body parts, the back of the wing mirrors on my old car cost £90 each for the colour coded backs.

Terry,
Have a chat with your local bodyshop on industrial estate. They may not have the smooth marketing spiel of "we come to you" but in my experience they do excellent work at the best price. The only advantage of "come to you" is you needn't be without car for a day, and if they're quoting the same prices, something has to give somewhere.

I WOULD RECOMMEND FLYING COLOURS. IF YOU CAN GET HOLD OF KEVIN DUNLEAVY. I'M VERY FUSSY AND HE HAS'NT LET ME DOWN YET. HE IS ALSO GOOD AT REPAIRING KERBED ALLOYS.

Ive, seen one of these guys working at the local Audi dealership preping cars for sale including doing bumper scrapes. If he's doing it for Audi it must be good. He told me it was £50 to invisibly repair a scuffed bumper.

Exactly, some git drove into my wife's Audi last night and messed up the bumper. Ar**hole drove off of course.
