What an imaginative and technically superb advert ..the new Nissan Primera one with the dolphins pacing the car through the streets..'Intelligence attracts intelligence'..

Yes, but do such adverts influence your choice of car?
|
|
I often wonder that myself Pete, very clever how they do it but do people really get turned on to a car by the message.
Millions are spent on these adverts and I imagine the PR people have to show results by sales but......
The power of the media came home to me on Sunday when I went to Staples superstore in Derby to buy a paper shredder.
Absolutely sold out the lad told me as a result of a programme appearing on TV the previous week showing the scams created by people throwing documents in the bin which gave personal details and criminals using them.
He said they had a huge stock but were sold out in a couple of days.
I didn't see the programme but it was a wonderful advert for the shredder manufactures and free...?????

Just shows the state of our roads.

Anybody seen the latest VW advert showing various VW owners using different methods to remember to put diesel in their TDI? One of the best car ads I have seen for a while, I love it!
|
|
Agreed, however a bit disappointed that Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells have finally been ripped off by a multinational (I speak as a former hippy here)
|
I am obviously outside the target audience for most of the 'clever'TV car ads because i seemingly never understand what they are on about. When dolphins swim alongside a container ship does that still mean they are clever?

Old Mikefield must be down to his last few mill, and needs the cash! :)
BTW, there have been a rash of TV commercials shot in cape town recently (It's cheap, and sunny!)
I'm going to start taking the digicam around with me, and get some shots - some of the cars I haven't even heard of!
And that new Merc sports job proto was "spotted" testing at the local racetrack last week - covered in duct tape to disguise the lines.

dolphins / Primera ad was a Portishead track.
|
|
|
is that a race track near Bristol or what?
|
|
You know how it goes. You have the tune in your head, listen to a few others and then totally forget the original one.
So after a quick search through my Portishead back catalogue, I think it's "Numb". But I stand awaiting correction.
I could have been worse, "Sour Times", "Cowboys" and "Biscuit" were alternatives.
Incidentially, does anyone know any songs with biscuits in the titles. The link being, er, I eat biscuits in the car....

Has anybody seen the advert for the new 7 series yet?
It has a girl swimming around the car.
Quite clever I thought, but not as good as some of the other BMW adverts of late - what do you guys think?
