Astra dash bulb replacement - akr
The wife has an October 2003 Astra Convertible which has been faultless. Until now, now it's just out of warranty!!! One of the backlight bulbs behind the radio display unit at the top of the dash has gone so that one half of the display is very dim.
How easy is it then to get to this to change the bulb?. The central binnacle seems to be a separate unit from the rest of the dash. Is it a DIY job?
I was just wondering if you can do it yourself. If you can't and it's a dealer job I won't bother and will just live with it.

The following how2's should help you.

Thanks Dave. But as I suspect can I really be bothered to allow a four hour job for one bulb?

The 4 hours is referring to substituting all the bulbs in the dash for LEDs. To change just the odd bulb or two *shouldn't* take that long. I just pointed you toward the how2 to give you some idea of what's involved to access the bulbs.
