Take a look at this....

Bidding was up to around £1200 last time I looked, and there's no reserve. Fortunately I'm out of the country next week, so I can't buy it.

I get the feeling this is one luxobarge that can't be run on a bangernomics budget!

Woof woof.

Richard,
I don't need an excuse not to buy. Pole/barge/with/touch/wouldn't/it/a come to mind.
There was a near identical one, but with full leather, the other year that was entered again and again in the local classic auctions. It watched the Mk1 Golf GTis and MGBs fly away around it while it remained unloved.

RTS Huntingdon? You have to admit, a Biturbo as banger transport would be highly amusing until it broke down (within a week I suspect).
At that price, almost worth buying just to drop the engine and transmission (if it runs) into a Lotus Seven type kit car. You'd probably get your money back by selling the other bits.

RTS Godmanchester? Absolutely.
Good fun looking round there. Some tarted dross and a few real bargains hidden at the back.

Sounds like great fun to me. But suspect that reliablility would not be up to Japanese standards.
Anybody run one of these?
Anybody made a bid?

Reliability wouldn't be up to Lancia Gamma standards

I hope it wasn't you who bought that Ford Anglia a few months back. Primrose yellow, brush painted, rattly timing chain, absolutely rotten, and a non-transferrable registration number. When it made £250 I almost fell over with surprise. There are indeed some bargains at the back of the hall, but that wasn't one of them.
Might see you there in future. I'll be the bloke under the Triumph Herald, poking the chassis frame to see what falls out.
