Dad needs a new set of tyres for his Fabia vRS.
His local tyre guy (in SW France) is quoting him ?150 a corner for Michelins.
On Pneus24 they are offering Fulda Carat Extremo for ?78.20 delivered a corner - 49% off their RRP.
Does anyone (tyreexpert....) have any experiences of this brand/model, as it´s not one I´ve used before. I´m particularly interested in its wear rate, as the vRS is a bit of a tyre muncher.
Size is 205/45 R16 83W.
Thanks in advance,
Barchettaman

I have not heard of them, but it might be worth checking out this site.

I read frequently, but only post when I have something useful to say.

Very cheap albeit good tyres always make me suspicious:
- A newer, better version of the tyre might be out already. Tyre tests often mention this in accounting for a poor or good performance of a particular tyre.
- These ones were produced some time ago.
- They fell off a lorry (sic).

I have a set of Fulda Carat Attiro's on the Octavia (TDI - 90hp, shouldn't be a tyre muncher) and I'd say they wore noticeably faster than any other tyre I can remember

Thanks chaps.
The guys over on Briskoda.net are recommending Toyos or Kumhos, so I will check those on the website.

BM Fulda are one of the biggest brands in Germany, ans are owned by Goodyear. In Germany they are Goodyears top brand bigger even than the Goodyear name itself. They have had many good test write ups both here and in Germany.
Fitted prices over here Fulda £71.00 Mich £92.00 Bridgestone £86.00 Conti £84.00 Goodyear £82.00
Firestone £69.00 Marshal/Kumho £60.00 Pirelli £66.00 Uniroyal £65.00 Dunlop £88.00
Avon £66.00 Budget £43.00
Shows how expensive the continent is for tyres.......
