The best Frrcycled car yet? - Hugo {P}
or can anyone else do any better?

Cut and pasted from an e mail I received from the Exeter Freecycle Group

She is in fairly good condition, garaged, but in need of a bit of
work to keep her / make her really presentable.

Some stats:
-> 50k miles on this engine
-> Reasonably new paint job
-> very little (significant) rust
-> New welds underneath
-> New tyres
-> All electrics work

I want to keep the stereo

Needs
-> a new roof lining
-> a new hatch (or some work on the old one)
-> probably a bit more welding underneath within a year or so
-> freeing up of some moving parts. Been sitting for a few months.

SHE IS FAST AS HELL ITSELF.

I even have a spare car for spares.

I should really be selling her, but I'd never get what she is worth
to me. So, I will give her away to someone that will / can do her
justice... a genuine enthusiast. It's like I'll be giving away one
of my children.

I was tempted by this

Mk2 Golf GTi
I have posted this car a couple of times now, unfortunatley itsstill
sat on my drive, i have loaded it up in the back with all the spare
parts i have for it.
The following work would be required to get it on the road:

New rear brakes
two bits of exhaust
driveshafts need reconnecting
various bits ofengine need putting back on (plugs etc) plus oil and
water
I just dont have the time to complete this project, I have put many
new bits on it including a new gearshift mechanism, CV boot and a few
more bits and bobs.
The engine in it now is a replacement from a 89k miles mk2 with a
full history and a new clutch.
It has excellent almost new michelin tyres too
The interior is in excellent condition.

The car is too good to break up in my opinion but will be getting
picked up to go to the scrappy next week as the wife has had enough
of the drive being cluttered ( I have 3 cars and she has 1 !!)

IT WILL NEED TO BE TOWED OR TRAILERED AWAY
