Pilot green Fuel Saver Any thoughts? - xtremity
Afternoon all,

I have a V40 2.0 turbo Auto, and am happy (as well as you can be) with the fuel consumption. I have come accross one of these magnetic fuel (pilot green) saving devices, and wondered if anyone on here has used one or has any opinions on them, i.e do they work?

This is the item in question.... (assuming links are allowed) if not ebay v4o fuel saving
cgi.ebay.co.uk/volvo-s40-v40-s60-s70-s80-v70-v60-v...m

They certainly have all the banter and sales patter onthem, but in the real world do they have an effect on your consumption and or smooth running of the car?

Is it worth spending the few quid on one or is it a gimmick and not worth it? Also anyone with a V40 have any ideas where to mount this?

>>Is it worth spending the few quid on one or is it a gimmick and not worth it?<<

You've said it yourself. If it saved so much, then Volvo would stick it on at manufacture.

I've seen a similar thing for central heating systems but whether that's just "Snake Oil" still or not, I don't know.

Do they work? NO!

Is it worth spending a few quid? Never.

The only effect they will have is due to the so-called placebo effect.

You may as well send me the money.

Politely, it's codds wallop. Petrol, diesel, autogas etc is non magnetic.

This type has been around since the late 60`s,just a different name, and not worth buying IMO

Snake oil, smoke and mirrors, never been tested or proven scientifically, adverts changed or banned by Adverrising Standards Authority, Ec*tek, Br*quet, rubbish!

If connected to your cold water tap it will turn water into wine apparently ;-)

Try putting it next to some lead and see if it turns into gold. Worth a punt, I'd say ;-)

Or slip it to Iran for uranium enrichment purposes.

Is that a "NO" then!

Don't you mean Reliant's?

These are on ebay auctions for every car under the sun, diesel or petrol, old or new. They match the 2p magic resistors for mugging poor unfortunates. Avoid like the plague ;)

These have been around years in one form and another, and there is still absolutely no basis for them to actually work. They are just an idea dreampt up by a bunch of hair-gel using con men !

I am 100% against these things but there is evidence that magnetic banadages may work on animals. Dogs with arthritic joints have been alleged to improve and, of course ,there cant be anything psycholgical in this as the dog does not have any expectation of an improvement. However, an improvement seems to occur.

Woa hold on there.

these are made of Neodymium Conductor Magnets.

Yes but they are still magnets. I don't know what those are and neither does the dog! Are you saying that some magnets are good for car fuel systems, descaling central heating systems, and others aren't?
Pilot green Fuel Saver Any thoughts? - Altea Ego
No these are more than magnets, these are Neodymium Conductor Magnets. With all that technology, they must arrange all your atoms in a line

Are they the same as deutridium flux capacitors?
Pilot green Fuel Saver Any thoughts? - Altea Ego
Yup

if you chip bits off them you get dilithium cyrstals as well

That's fairly impressive.

What would happen once I hit 88mph?
Pilot green Fuel Saver Any thoughts? - Armitage Shanks {p}
You'd get a ticket or a NIP
Pilot green Fuel Saver Any thoughts? - Adam {P}
Haha - WRONG!

The resultant lines of fire and time travel would prevent any cop managing to get me.

Unless they had a DeLorean as well. With one of these magnet thingies.

... but they'd have your detached spinning licence plate as evidence.

"What would happen once I hit 88mph?"

That's warp speed.
You would exit the current space-time continuum and find yourself on the plante HtraE in a far away galaxy, long ago.
