Wiper scratches on windscreens - Steve
Has anybody got any remedy for the removal of light scratching on my windscreen caused by dirt caught under the wiper blade.
Are there any products ie polishes etc available?

Altuglas polish1 works on acrylic you could try this.

You could also try a product called 'micromesh' which is a very fine (12000 grade!) wet and dry cloth. It is used in the aerospace industry for removing scratches in aircraft windscreens. Unfortunately, I don't know where you can buy the stuff, but I'll look into it & reply again. My supply (gleaned from my time in the RAF!) is running out!

Hmm... from my brief search I found the following links:

www.sisweb.com/ms/sis/micromes.htm

also:

www.fp.rdg.ac.uk/wkc1/DIY/repairs/msg00013.html

It doesn't seem to be recommended for glass per se, but it might be worth a try

I've always found the 12000 grade to work well on hardened debris (insects in the summer) on the windscreen

hope this helps
