Is it possible to do this? Nope, no misfuelling ;o) I'm selling the thing, and currently have £50 worth of diesel in the tank!

not done a 306 but the information should be the same
lift back seat squab up pull out big plastic plug see which is return hose on the pump, take off, connect to a longer similar bore hose, start vehicle and let this pipe drain in to the donor vehicles fuel tank, usually takes 15 minutes on similar cars when i do it.

Why not ask the buyer for an extra £50?

I'll get told to 'whatever' off.
Cheers oldman!

Why not break into the return line in the engine compartment?

Why not break into the return line in the engine compartment?
Isn't that at 28,000PSI?
Also the underbonnet of this thing is cramped to say the least.

the reason i dont recommend under the bonnet is if the car is original the pipework to fixings are factory made and a new pipe will have to be made up.
it therefore follows that if car for sale (as was said) then anyone with a bit of noggin will want to know why pipes been messed with and has car got an inherent problem?
its only fuel pump pressure - mss1tw dont worry
i will usually empty other makes via underbonnet but not a peugeot when the job is so easy under the rear seat and the next owner is non the wiser cos your secret is under the seat of your pants as it were

The return line being open at the tank end is at zero pressure.
|
How much are you selling the car for?
Unless its a couple of hundred or so I wouldn't worry about £50 worth of diesel.
When I'm trying to sell a car I try to keep only £5 worth of fuel in it.

How many gallons of fuel does a 306 tank hold? £50 sounds too much. I only managed to squeeze just under £50 worth of petrol (@ 95.5p / litre) in my Vectra the other day (61 litre tank), and the fuel light had been on for approx 20 miles.
|
I've got a feeling the tank on the 306 is 65 litre tank so at 98.9p a litre (i think the OP has a derv) it should easily get fifty quids worth in it - i can get over £40 in my 106.

Close - 60 litres, and I filled up till she could nay take anymore, Cap'n.
Stupid of me really, but I just wasn't thinking.

So probably not far off 65 litres if you fill it like i do till it's just about overflowing the filler neck!
|
Definitely over 65 litres. I have put in a few litres more than that (can't remember how many, exactly).
|
Gobsmacked!
What is effectively a small car (Well, compared to a Vectra anyway) and having a larger fuel tank fitted.
|
I do fill right to the brim, which takes ages with diesel. At the moment, I've done over 700 miles on a full tank and the warning light's not yet on. Nice to get that range! The "nominal" capacity is 60 litres, according to Haynes and the Peugeot handbook, but this is simply not accurate.
