1997 Fiat Cinciquento - Alarm going off - Morpheus
Hi all,

The girlfriend has a 1997 Fiat Cinciquento (sp?) and it has and alarm on (3rd party i think) which all of a sudden has started going off randomly, even when it is supposedly switched off and when you are driving.

I thought it might be the battery but it was new about 6 months ago, so has anyone else got any ideas what it could be?!

1997 cinquento"s do not have an alarm fitted at the factory only an immobilisor,therefore if you are not competant to rip it out yourself you will need expert help as most of these aftermarket things cut the fuel supply feed in a hidden part of the loom and if you chop it out nilly/willy the car will never run again,....sorry
any competant auto electrician should be able to do this for an hours labour

Thanks for the advice!

I have now noticed that the alarm only seems to be going off when the alarm is switched off.

Could it be an almost dead battery in the remote setting it off?
