Hi, I currently own a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 Ltr DTI, Elegance. Registered 09/2000 and has covered 91,000 miles.
Like changing the oil on this car I needed specific tools to undo the sump plug etc (Torx),however, I need to change the front discs and pads on my Zafira. I have a haynes manual to refer too, but can anyone advise on specific tools I may need to buy inorder to remove the brake callipers and pads, I am thinking of sockets etc.
Thank you

If it's the same as other Vauxhalls, you'll need a 7mm allen key to remove the pads, and a 10mm allen key to remove the calipers, and a crosshead (Phillips) screwdriver to remove the disk from the hub.

Just to add to DD's comments you will need socket type allen keys, not just the ones on a ring.
7mm is a special size for the caliper slider pins anyway and quite often the 10mm caliper carrier bolts are very tight hence the need for the socket type.

I've never used socket type allen keys for my Cavalier Mk3 or my Astra Mk4, just the ordinary L-shaped ones.

You were lucky. The caliper mounting unit that has to come off to change discs has a bolt torque of 70 lb-ft! Really needs a 'socket type' hex key. The sliding pins need much less and a 'hand powered' key is usually OK.

I too have managed to previously get away with allen keys as opposed to socket hex's. All you need to do is use a piece of tubing on the allen key to increase the leverage needed to undo the bolts.
I eventually made my own socket hex's though by butchering an old allen key set with a grinder to cut them down to size.
