Now that the new tax year has started, i hope that my local District Council will find it within themselves to authorise PROPER repair to 12 miles of A417 east of Cirencester. The surface and general condition of the carriageway is deplorable. Having had to re-align my suspension again i'm not best pleased. I wonder what the money (that was earmarked for repairs), has been spent on over the years? Sorry to rant on.

Have you told the council that it needs doing? If no-one tells them, they won't take the initative, even if they're supposed to.
As to what the money has been spent on, i bet a fair chunk has gone on paying out to people claiming for misaligned suspension, bent wheels and so on.

The money was probably spent on more civil servants to have fous groups, meetings and discussions on how best to spend the money on anything other than roads, on the basis that potholes are a form of traffic calming.
