Salvage Squad's "2 Weeks" - Stevieboy
I have it on good authority that the Tank restoration was filmed over a 5 month period.

The owner of the vehicle worked on the project during those 5 months, getting the, ahem, "2 Weeks" of help from the Salvage Squad Team. The "2 weeks filming" was spread over the 5 month period.

Without the "time limit" 90% of the entertainment factor would be lost

I've only seen the Bristol car episode, the best moment was when Lee Hurst broke off that indicator switch ... the rest was just convoluted and processed tripe.

Quite disappointed with the program, as has already been pointed out, the Continuity Editor needs to work quite a bit harder!

And there ain't no Santa Claus. It's a sad, serious world!

Steve, I missed the Bristol one but saw the tank and steam roller ones.
I must say I enjoyed them and thought them more entertaining than some bloke screaming round a racetrack on a car road test showing us how fast he can drive.
However I was suspicious of the time scales they were working to, it just didn't seem feasible or practical. The MOD could have done with this team in the Gulf war instead of a Company of REME.
I don't really know why they have to pretend they completed these huge task in 10 days, it wouldn't detract if they stated the facts. but perhaps then no-one would believe that TV stars would tie themselves up for so long in dirty overalls.

I notice that future projects for the team include restoring a Tiger Moth biplane. Rebuilding that in a fortnight will really stretch the bounds of credibility a bit far...

There's a forum on the channel 4 website ... most of the comments mirror those made in TBR:

Unsurprisingly Channel 4 have not responded to any of the posts ...

Steve.

Yamato would be more interesting.
