Thanks guys for all your responses. Unfortunately I haven't yet got the answer I am looking for - my fault.
I should have made it clear I'm looking for a rust curing product. I have a car with a large patch of bubbling paint. Underneath that the bare metal will probably be rusty/pitted. I need a suitable product to prime the bare metal before repainting.

Once it gets to that stage the rust treatment is tinsnips and replacement metal usually.

theres no miricle cure
what you can do is slow it down a bit
sand back to bare metal on both side if possible...make sure its totaly dry(prep is the important bit) then paint the area both sides with rust bullet/rust encapsulator or por15...then fill any holes with fibre glass paste and sand/prime /paint to match your car
the above products are as good as they get really
avail from
www.rustbullet.com/
www.frost.co.uk/
if you can access the back side of the rust, underseal or dinitrol wax after your done

There is this green gel stuff in Halfords (not jenolite but next to it) that you paint on after scraping the loose paint. It works well, and will give you a shiny metal surface If it's pitted, use JB Weld (also in Halfords with glues) smear a light layer over the damage, and leave to cure, then sand of with a block, prime and paint. Good luck. the rust will probably come back as it's like mould in cheese.
