Vauxhall Network Q Warranty - Jon Cunningham-Smith
Having just purchased an 11 month old Vauxhall Vectra under the Network Q Scheme, I am now being asked if I'd like to extend the warranty until the vehicles 3rd birthday (2 Years).

Whilst the amount to do this is relatively modest in my circumstances, I am wondering whether or not any people have had any reason to claim under this warrranty and if so, were the faults covered and importantly, were you happy with the service?

I don't wish to shell out for this if there is the potential for Network Q to 'duck out' of any claims.

The car does come with a 2nd and 3rd year dealer warranty anyway.

I look forward to hearing from anyone with experience of Network Q warranties.

I have 4 weeks to do this so do not respond after 1 Mar 2006!

I also had the same invite last July to "top up" my warranty for another 18 months, when my car will be 3 yrs old.

Although my Vectra still had the remainder of the 2nd and 3rd yr Vauxhall warranty left to run, I was informed that the AA breakdown cover was for roadside rescue only.

I beleive the Net-Q warranty actually has more clout than the dealer warranty, and also the AA breakdown cover included is full cover, which includes home visits, should your car ever need it.

As well as this, unless things have changed, you also get a guaranteed MOT pass when the car is 3 yrs old (up to a maximum cost of £750), which includes things like worn wiper blades, and bulb failures.

It cost me £108 to renew my Net-Q warranty for another 18 months, which when you weigh in full breakdown cover and an MOT pass is really chicken feed.

In short, the Net-Q warranty is about the best warranty you'll get, IMHo.

Thanks for this Dave. Obviously you've had no need to claim under the warranty side of things? Which I Suppose is why you choose a Network Q car!

As for the MOT thing and Breakdown cover, I agree with you.

With thanks

I've previously had to claim on a Net-Q warranty.

Not on my current car, but on various other cars dating right back to 1986, when I first started owning Vauxhalls. I can't recall ever having any problems when I've needed to make a claim on any car I've owned that came with a Net-Q warranty.

If the failed part was covered by the warranty, then there was never any quibble from my Vaux dealer into rectifying it.

Thanks Dave.

My mind is definitely made up.
