EBC Greenstuff Pads - grafen
Has anyone out there tried them?

Yes, I tried them in my MGF. They were OK, but I wouldn't particularly recommend them over the stndard pads.
What car would you put them in and why are you looking for something other than standard ?

My MGF had several modifications and so the EBC pads joined a list of modifications notified to the insurance co. Strictly speaking, they probably do qualify as a modification from standard.
My current car is strictly standard.

I reckon they're just ordinary pads with green paint on and a high price.

I assume thats tongue in cheek as A. They look totally different to standard pads, with a different texture & feel & B. they can be cheaper than OEM pads they certainly have been for some cars!

Yup on several cars & installed on other peoples. Not vastly better braking than standard pads but don't leave loads of filthy brake dust so a vast improvement. And as they're code 90 approved they are technically just a replacement pad so why notify the insurers? You wouldn't if you installed Delphi rather than the main dealers... would you?

If you get a few so-called standard pads, they also have different textures. Mintex don't leave dust.
I have never tried greenstuff myself due to bad press I have read on other forums.
I would never buy or fit an expensive brake pad that has been painted bright green, and called 'green stuff' - I'm sorry, but really I wouldn't!

I have used them for the past 4 years on the Omega MV6, more for the dust free feature than any performance consideration. They are very good at dust free, so I will continue with them.

Thanks for the replies. Need to replace the makers OE soon & just wondered how good the EBCs were. Always liked Ferodos in the past & from what you've all said, I think I'll go for those...
