Starting problem - vauxhall astra - sajid
I still got a vauxhall astra 1.4 94 model, 60 bhp high torque model, i was waiting at the lights, with the engine running, and the engine stopped, it wouldnt start, the starter motor turns but the engine does not fire up, the ign light and oil light up, when the engine stopped, after 5 mins of coaxing it started, this fault happens rarely, it also happened a week ago, any ideas.. thanks for your input

give it a full engine service and see how it goes, no immobilisor on this year, so only other thought is crank sensor going o/c.

its got a facotry fitted immobiliser, and where is the crank sensor...

hi there i still got the problem, i changed the ht leads, but it still stopped, maybe its to do with the air filter inlet pipe, as i examined it and the pipe was loose, also i cleaned the spark plugs still it kond of tells me that the car is not running smooth, any ideas.. next might change the distributor cap

a full engine service is not a set of leads, go back to basics and start again with a full engine service of all consumable parts, im sure this will sort your problem.

will do and let you know, thought it be electrical went to the garage and told them of the fault and would it be possible to cure it by crypton tuning it, the garage man said if the fault is not present i am wasting my money just to check it as he says after 94 the ecu does tuning
