peugeot diesel oil leak. - eddy24
I have a high milage 406 1.9td that leaks oil from the pipe by the intercooler. I have also noticed a ford focus with low miles leaking oil from the same place,

I want to no where the oil is leaking from and how to stop it leaking, i guess it is comeing from either the turbo or the breather pipe. thanks eddy

SFAIK the intercooler has hot air from the turbo going thru it, to be cooled by the water from the car's cooling system. Apart from oil to lubricate the bearings of the turbo, which is fairly near the intercooler, there shouldn'e be any oil associated with the correct operation of the intercooler itself and thus no oil leaks from it.

A lot of intercooled diesels(usually air/air coolers)show a stain at the connection on the output end;as long as it is not dripping out,there should be no problems-it comes from the oil mist out of the crankcase vent system.
