99 DTI fuelling problem - keir1163
Hi guys,
Just bought a stolen recovered one of the above. Ignition was knackered so it has been replaced and chipped back to the ECU.
Problem is i have no fuel being lifted from the tank. I also have no fault codes so i assume all parts are ok including the fuel pump.
The vehicle has been sitting for 6 months.......
So any ideas?
would the bleed off pipes being knackered cause a total loss of fuel?does the immo stop the fuel?

Help!!!!!!

does the immo stop the fuel?

Not sure, but if there was an immobiliser fault the ecu light should flash on and off when you turn the key.

the management light goes out ok and stays off
It really is a mystery...............could it just be that cos the derv is back in the tank and air is getting in that it just does not pump derv?

Certain vauxhall diesel engines have bother starting in the morning, due to the leak off pipes going hard which enables air to be drawn in overnight. It sounds silly but have you tried a tow start? i've had to do this many a time after changing the fuel filter on the likes of the vaux zafira as it saves a load of cranking over, trying to draw the fuel up.Id try these simple things first, before investigating the fuel lines/electrics etc.
