My 99 406,has a problem with the radio reception,whereas,one minute it's fine,the next it loses signal,and hisses.
We have a local radio station near us,and even outside the building,it won't pick up the signal!!!!
The aerial base and aerial were recently replaced with brand new items from Peugeot, but still it persists.
Any ideas?

sounds like a radio fault rather than aerial?

Hi,
One possibility, there is usually a supressor on the power input of the radio to eliminate interference from the high voltages in the engine which can cause it.
You need to make sure this is still intact and functioning or this could be the cause of your interference and not radio reception.

Quinny, is your radio made by Clarion? If so get in touch with these guys who were very helpful when my 406 cd player developed an intermittent fault (more so than my local Pug dealer):
Clarion Service and Parts Centre UK, The Mill Building, 25 The Fox,
Swindon, Wiltshire, SN5 4EF
Telephone number 01793 770730
Fax number 01793 770370
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your input guys.I'll look into your suggestions over the coming days.
I never thought to give Clarion a ring, but will do so tomorrow when I'm at work.
I'll post back when I've got it sorted, hopefully,in the next few days.
Ken.
