I have actually come across a number of cars years later.
An old CDi Cavalier part-exchanged by my boss in 1990 with 150,000 on the clock - seen in 2001 in Brighton
A Golf GTi belonging to a work colleague last seen in 1989 - passed me coming the other way in 1997
An SRi Cavalier disposed of in 1992 with over 200,000 on the clock coming the other way in Dorking in 1998
A D-reg Jag owned by a boss in 1988 turned up 2 streets away from my house in 1999
A Lancia Delta company car which had to be returned with a bent chassis in 1990 - seen coming the other way down the A40 in 1995
Yes I seem to have a photographic memory for number plates at least.

Are you sure you would want to meet up with owners of cars you have sold?
I'll be happy with some, but not others I suspect. See my old Mercedes around a bit, but it only lives a couple of miles away.

I remember my sister in Edinburgh sold her Talbot Samba via the local paper. Two years later she moved to Porthcawl in Wales. Six months after she moved, her next door neighbour bought, yes you guessed, her Samba!
What a horrible yellow colour it was as well....
