Looking at next years holiday and the Britanny coast in June is favourite.Which route in France is the easiest to navigate? St Malo to Britanny or Roscoff to Britanny?
As i live in Taunton, Plymouth to Roscoff appears the easiest all be it a 6 and a half hour crossing.Just a bit dubious about the Navigating in France.

Plymouth to Roscoff is the way to go. St Malo is better placed for eastern Brittany and Normandy.
Don't worry about navigation, for the following:
there is a fraction of the traffic you are used to and
roadsigns are excellent.
Get yourself a Michelin map of Bretagne (£4 from a good bookshop) plan your route in advance and have a great time.
If you are flexible on which day you travel look for an early morning crossing from Plymouth. About 8.30 I think it leaves. Gets you to France mid afternoon, leaving you plenty of time to get where you are going to. These crossings are cheaper and cabins are very cheap if you want a little more in the way of facilities. Overnight ferry gets you into Roscoff at 06.30 which means you are going to arrive before anything is open.
Enjoy your holiday.

One more thing. Don't leave yourself short of time once you get to Plymouth (like we did). There may well be a better route, but we followed the signs for the ferry and it took us a very long-winded route through the city, and there was a lot of speed cameras.
