Had a look in every supermarket/hypermarket for VW 505.01 spec diesel oil for the past 3 weeks.
No luck. Own brand,Shell and Total dominated the shelves.
At least the 'gasoil' was cheaper at between 0.99 and 1.15 Euros per litre.
The wine was pretty cheap as well.

If you think this is difficult, try finding the VaG 506.00 and 506.01 spec oil for the PD turbo diesel engines !
I gave up and went to a VW dealer in St Gilles Croix de Vie.
I'm sure however a Total oil to the 505 spec is available in some places I saw.

The Total oil was widely available to VW 505.00 but I was after the VW 505.01 stuff for PD engines.
My general impression was that oil was not hugely cheaper than the UK.
