For me it'a about 400 miles but i know that will be beaten by someone who drives across europe.
And i'm sure that will be beaten by someone who once bought a 1963 Veedub camper and drove all the way to kazakhstan or somewhere equally remote.

1200 plus miles, Sweden, 1983 MG Metro Turbo. Did the 670 miles from the channel coast to north Denmark faster than J Clarkson in the McLaren SLR.

I was in turkey 18 years ago and met a Swede near lake van (in a saab of course) who had driven down to buy carpets (not a business - just for personal use).
I like many have been to italy, austria, etc.

As a driver, 1957 miles (according to Viamichelin website) - the Highlands to Romania.
As a passenger, (when I was a child), about 2850 miles - we drove across europe - Ireland to the Middle East.

To Italy and back in a weekend (but starting and stopping in Holland).
Drove back home from Capetown many years ago.

In the old mans Jaguar 3.4 ( that is the Mk1 ) we got as far as Positano, in 1961.
Much respect for Jags in those days, esp. in Switzerland.

High Wycombe to Dublin via my mates in Llandudno then to Hollyhead, then went on to co. Armagh (bandit land as many army guys would call it!) in a B&B, next day poped up to Giants causeway via Cloeraine & back to Armagh. Then drove to Belfast ferry port & went over to Stranraer, from there to Dumfries in a B&B for a night, then from there to back home in High Wycombe.
Total millege: just over 1000 miles
Furthest point was probably Stranraer a good 400 miles me thinks!

since I started the thread, probably Southampton to Belves (near Bergerac) 490 miles plus the 30 miles to Poole. Saw a couple of cars from Finland in Provence this summer which is a pretty long trek.

- I went from Perpignan in France to Bratislava in March this year, that's about 1200 miles each way.
I saw several UK-registered cars in Northern Cyprus last month - including several Fiesta vans for sale at a local dealership. Explain that?!
Also saw a Paris-registered 406 in Tel Aviv last month!

Saw a London reg Landcruiser just north of Tel Aviv last week. - what's that - 2,500 miles as the crow flies?
I would love to drive to Israel, but assume that goiing all the way on land is impossible as Lebanon and Syria might object. I wonder which ferry route you would go.

Left home nera Oxford at 0430, caught a boat from Dover and was in Geneva in time for dinner at 8 pm. 550 miles.

Furthest I've been is ROI in a Fiat Regata, from Cornwall, Christmas 1996.
I can't remember the mileage but the trip went up the M5 to M4. Across the Severn bridge and onto Fishguard.
Docked at Rosslair (spelling?) then onto Kilkenny.
Returned home some 8 days later.

Used to visit telecom sites around the country, but nowhere near some of the mileages listed.
Had a site in York, return trip from just outside Bath was 480 miles in my 1.0 litre Micra. 3.5 hours to get there, 4 hours to get back. Never obvious where. Once i was on site for less than a hour!

Furthest from home - The Lizard and Cape Wrath (not in one trip!). Furthest in a day Uig (Skye) to Leeds including a break down at Kendal!
Furthest away I've seen a British registered car is in Kanyakamuri - the 'Land's End' of India. It was an ex London taxi and had been driven there by a couple of guys from the UK. They were on a trip around India and had done the west coast. Kanyakamuri was the point they turned north heading for Calcutta!

Total mileage in one day, solo driving, 1044 miles. Did it in about 16 hours, stopping for only as long as it took to fill the petrol tank and empty my bladder. FWIW, I could fill the tank of a Mitsubishi Galant quicker than I could empty my bladder.

When living in NSW, Australia, drove for 4 days with 2 drivers alternating every 2-3 hours. Ended up somewhere north of Cooktown on Cape York, Far North Queensland. Several thousand km driven (though not as the Kookaburra flies.)
In one day: arrive dockside Melbourne from Tasmania ferry at 8am, arrive home 6pm and 1000km later.

I did 660 miles in less than a day in May this year in my 1982 Granada Ghia 2.8 from Warrington to the Rhine Valley, Germany to attend a Granada show. We travelled in a convoy of 10 cars (a mixture of MK1 Consuls/Granadas and MK2 Granadas) - great fun and no problems at all! We all had CB radios which were useful - We got some surprised looks on the motorways!

For Israel, I reckon you go via Cyprus: ferries in from Greece or Turkey, and out again to Beirut or Haifa!

Massive British Army base in Limassol, and lots of ex-pats moving out there nowadays.
And they drive on the left, so all you have to do is take your UK car there, no issues with it being 'wrong'-sided etc.

Went to value a house yesterday and the owner was a fuel broker who visits hauliers around the country. He drives over 100,000 miles each year!
Can anyone beat that without making contrived trips to get the mileage up.

I don't think people from military bases in Greek/Cyprus would even be able to get across the border into Northern/Turkish Cyprus, never mind sell a car when they got there.

A chum of mine has just sold his 9 month old Disco with a mere 82k on the clock. He sells fleet Landrovers around the country.

the borders are open in cyprus now british forces and ex-pats have no real problem crossing although you cant stay overnight and come back. would think it difficult to sell a car in the north and just as a point northern cars have a red border line running around the edge of the registration plate.
