Thanks Alan - the only reason for some hesitation is that, due to the circumstances, Mrs V will feel obliged to keep the car for a reasonable time. As a gift, we'd feel uncomfortable taking it only to then have to chop it in for something else because she couldn't get on with it say. You're right and we're not complaining, the situation's not so much of a problem as potentially awkward. Glad to hear it's 'reliable' as that's a key factor.

Not much of an idea about their reliability, my only experience has been seeing them pitted against a C-Max, alongside other cars of the class, in a handling competition, naturally the C-max won. However, I don't reckon that's too important as Mrs V is unlikely to be launching it into a slalom at 50mph, or getting it airborne over a humpback bridge. At least I hope she's not! :-)
Even if it needs a few things fixing on it, the cost of ownership of a free Picasso will be much lower than any other car that you have to pay for, whether it's more reliable than the Picasso or not.
I would go for it!

I have two closer friends where the wife drives a Picasso, one petrol, one diesel. As far as I know, neither has had any problems with them, and when Ihave been driven in one, they seem comfortable and smooth.
Never say no a free car, unless it does not meet your requirements in any way and/or will be a money pit. Neither applies to you, so go for it!.

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
