About to buy a new Volvo? - SlightlyFatRep
For anyone lucky enough to be about to buy a new Volvo I think I can help save you a decent wedge of cash.

If you go to www.volvoclub.org.uk and become a member (£16.50 for the first year) you can get a discount on a new Volvo on top of any discount you negotiate with the dealer. Go to the news section of the website for the full details.

The discounts are as follows:-
S60 -7.5% & Free Metallic Paint
V70 -5.5% " " " "
XC70 -5.5% " " " "
S80 -5.5% " " " "
C70 -7% " " " "
S40 / V50 Free Metallic Paint only

Remember, these are discounts on top of whatever you haggle with the dealer.

The owners club website explains how the system works but as you can negotiate a good discount anyway it brings some new Volvos into the realms of the price of a 1 or 2 year old version.

Sadly the scheme was not up and running when I got my S60 D5S recently.

After a lot of negotiation I got mine for £17,100 including Metallic paint (against a list price of £22,013) from a Volvo dealer (a saving of over 22%). If I had been able to use this scheme above as well I would have got a further £1,283 off (7.5%) and £500 for the metallic paint i.e saving a further £1,783.

This would have made a £22,000 car £15,317 new, from a dealer with 3 year warranty, free RAC cover, etc.

You will not find a 1 year old Diesel S60 at a dealer for anything like as cheap, and this makes it a terrific bargain for those of you considering a BMW 3, Merc C Class, Audi A4 or even a Volvo S40!

I hope this helps someone.

Cheers!

Gavin
