My 1989 Golf GTi 16v has started to run on three cylinders when ticking over. It runs fine at over 1200 rpm and goes well but I'd like it to tick over properly. Any ideas? Thanks

when did it last have new leads, plugs etc?

Assuming you have replaced the distributor cap then I would do a compression test incase you have burnt a valve out. This swos up readily at tick over and much lesser effect at high rpm. Regards Peter
