Just done the obligatory Costco run and spotted Mobil 1 0w/40 @ £23.37 don't know if that's a good price for any of you who might be interested.
Also checked out the details of the Chevron Supreme fully synthetic priced at £11.73 inc Vat. The spec. is:
5W/40
API:SL/CF
ACEA:A3/B3
Other details:
VW 502.00/505.00
MB 229.1
BMW Longlife -
98 Porsche
Don't know (or really care) what any of that means but hoping the above may be of some interest to someone.

The Chevron stuff is a fantastic oil for the price. Unless you need the 0w/40, there really isn't any point in paying twice as much for the Mobil 1.
|
Yes, but isn't the Chevron stuff 15w40 - which renders it useless for most modern cars (like VW/Audi/BMW/Merc/etc.) - might do for my PUG but I prefer using 10w40 (semi-synth) though.

Im not plain stupid, just a special kind of stoopid.

No, the CostCo Chevron synthetic oil (I have some in the garage) is 5w40.
Here is the data sheet:

They do both a 15w/40 mineral oil which is stupidly cheap, but the Fully Synth stuff is definitely 5w40.

No - the Chevron Supreme is as detailed in my original post - I copied the details direct from the container.
As for the question as to whether it's any good, that's probably a question for Oilman to answer.
