Lead weights - CM
I hear that shortly, lead weights will not be allowed for balancing wheels (obviously only when changing tyres). Is this true?

If so it is nice to know that the European parliament is so concerned for our health.

I don't think they are used anymore, and haven't been for a while, well that's what I read in a leaflet in the tyre shop about a year ago. It said they will be a steel alloy, but to be honest, the ones they fitted look like lead and have gone dull like lead, but then again, they are bigger than the ones they replaced... How does one tell? Maybe a magent, but I think stainless steel doesn't attract magnets either.

lead isnt magnetic
303 stainless steel is sort of magnetic,,,just a dull effect
304 is not magnetic
316 can be very magnetic or not at all depend s on spec

Dunno what stainless steel they put in my wrist but it's not magnetic - I tested it near a superconducting magnet at uni. (So perhaps not the wisest of ideas, but I needed to know...)
