Are you the owner of a VW group car fitted with a TDI PD engine, if you are do you know the name of any of these companies that change oil and filters in this type of engine. If you use one of these companies do you feel confident that they are using the VW specified oil that is needed for this type of engine.
Thanks

I wouldn't really worry about it whilst my car is/was under three (3) years old. Any hint of any tinkering other than @ VW then you're taking your chances if soemthing were to go wrong. If I paid that much money for a 'new' car then I'd do things by the book and hope that if the wheel came off - then I'd have some recourse.
Now if it were over three years old...maybe, but as has been said elsewhere, depends on the trust and competance of teh staff at the depot. You get some good and you get some bad. So you pays your money and you takes your chances :)

No course not, they fill it with whatever semi-synth/synth stuff they got in their vats man. Now obviously if you change the oil mor frequently than as VW recommend, then it shouldn't be a problem...but if you're going to expect the car to behave as it would on the 'long life' service schedule and use these oils, then you're storing up trouble for later. Other way would be to do it yourself - buy the oil, filter and sump plug from VW and do it yourself.

for a list of compatible oils, download

but also note that audi say:
Using ordinary high quality multigrade oil will not cause any engine damage but it will defeat the object of the new AVS technology and will mean that a service will be needed at fixed 10,000 mile intervals. In addition, compared with conventional oils, Long Life oils give exceptional levels of engine protection, are kinder to the environment and deliver fuel savings.
