Thinking about going to Amsterdam, then driving to Germany and back to France in 8 days-quick stop tour.
Looking on the usual websites to rent a car, does anyone have any experience of any less costly companies to rent from.
All of them seem to have a massive one way rental charge of atleast Euro 250.
Any advise anyone,on this.
Thanks

The problem with this is that although you pick the car up from say Hertz in Amsterdam and drop it back to Hertz in Paris whilst they are the same company the car still needs to get back to get back to Amsterdam. Only way to do this is to employ a driver to drive it back paying his wages, fuel costs, tool roads etc and they need to recover those costs somewhere

Have you thought about picking the car up in the UK and dropping it back in the UK (making the assumption you are UK based)? At least you would not get hit for the one way charge.

Yes but then you would be in a rhd car on the continent, extra insurance or maybe not even permitted plus 2 ferry fares/Eurostar or whatever. Doesn't sound like a good financial deal. Can't you organise your trip to start and finish at the same point on the Continent?

Not sure about one way but the best rental prices I've found so far are by booking through www.ebookers.com
