I have traction control as standard in my Mondeo which it's default setting is on.
Are their any disadvantages or advantages of switching it off to it or indeed any car with TC fitted? i.e. better fuel consumption, tyre wear, worse or better handling etc?

Hate to state the obvious but assume it saves on tyre wear and gives you better and safer handling?
Is that not the purpose of it?

I'm sure mine flashes a light on the dashboard to tell me what I already know but does stuff all about it. (VW).
