(NOT A PROTEST THREAD!)
I'm curious as to what those more in the know when it comes to motoring think will happen to fuel prices - they can't keep rising, surely? (Not until we really are starting to run out of oil anyway).

They will keep on rising until the world oil price falls and/or Govt reduces the tax.

That's a politicians answer!! :^D

It might change if we have a new goverment, I read somewhere that what the petrol companies charge us is the cheapest in Europe, It's the tax that makes it expensive,,,,,,,,, or mabe I've got it wrong.

Would like to see 100% bio-diesel become more prevelant at the pumps as I think that there is a big tax advantage. I know certain outlets have 5% bio-diesel mix but thats not much help.
Anyway, If Tory win, I would imagine that the fuel escalator might be scrapped and possibly a small but irrelevant price decrease. If the other 2 win I can see it go up.
Fuel price is not the most important factor to me so won't influence my vote

TimW, we ARE running out of oil. It's a finite resource!!
I think oil prices will continue to rise in line with inflation as they have done for some time now.

Should be a small reduction in price in about 3-4 weeks due to drop in global price coupled with better £/$ ratio recently.
Price for June delivery.

As I predicted on a thread here a few weeks ago it was announced this week that US stocks have faired better than expected taking the pressure off production, should filter through to the pumps in the not to distant future.
