restoring leather? - Phil
Just bought a '92 Carlton Diplomat and the leather is quite tired on both the driver's and passenger's side. It is cracked and lots of white bits have appeared where grey should be.

What is the best (must be cheap) way of improving the look and feel of the upholstery? It is in nice condition in the back btw.

Check Practical Classics etc. You'll usually find adverts for leather treatments in the classifieds.

Speak to your local saddlery shop - most stuff they use for tack works wonders on car upholstery.
alternately, one of those kitchen green scrubbing-pots sponges and j&j baby oil. Give the seats a damn good scrub with the oil, and then wipe off with kitchen paper. You'll be amazed how much cr*p comes off... Ideally though, the seat should be warm, but I doubt if leaving the car out in the sun is a viable option for you at this time of year! :)

As Ian says saddle soap you cannot beat it
