When braking from speed there seems to be a thudding noise coming from the rear of the car. its not just a single thud, its quite a rapid thud until the car is at stand still.
just wondering if anybody has any clues to what this could be. any advise would be greatly recieved.
cheers

Probably a cracked disc. dont go fast until its been checked.
Can you feel any feedback through the brake pedal?

It is drum brakes at the rear, they are fine.
|It sounds like it is suspension related.
Its like a thumping on the underside of the bottom of the car at the rear.
cheers.

Possibly rear wheel bearing. Jack it up and check for any play.
Fairly easy to replace. Bearing sits in the drum. Take drum to a garage to swap out using a hydraulic press (charged me a few quid).

Could also be a rubber bushing that is worn on the rear of the car. 306's are hard on such parts. My own 306 would make a similar noise when pushed hard into a corner on a rough road surface as the car's weight shifted off the 'noisy' side.

This sounds like the problem, What are the chances of me replacing these myself and what does it entail.
Thanks for the help so far guys

rear axle needs to be lowered apart from chassis, and rubber bungs replaced. I believe there are bolts under the seats. Never done it, just read about it on a ZX which is nearidentical.
