PSA HDi Weaknesses - Bromptonaut
Follow up to www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?f=2&t=30...6 , originally attributed to failure of the rubber metal pulley as in other threads.

I'm now being told the pulley was not the problem and that the rocker(s) failed spontaneously. Workshop manager asked if I'd "read about this" (suspect he was taking the wotsit as I admitted my reliance on internet fora questioning earlier advice).

Are rockers or any other part of the cam/valvegear a known weakness on this engine.

As ever all advice greatfully received.

Can't see how a snapped rocker would cause the cambelt to fail - unless the debris somehow jammed the camshaft.
