Hi,
I have a 1994 Rover 414si, K-series engine, problem is when engine is warm and left for 10 mins. Takes along time before eventually it will start and runs again.
No cold staring problems usually starts first time and runs great!
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards, Ian

Is it the DOHC 16v injected engine, or the SOHC 8v with a carburettor?
If the latter then refusal to hot-start is often caused by excessive heat reaching the carburettor resulting in premature fuel evaporation.
Apart from this, do standard checks for fuel (wet plugs after cranking?) and spark (take it out and crank) and see what you come up with.

Have you checked the air filter?.may be in need of replacement.

Hi,
It's the 16V multipoint fuel injection engine.
Only refuses to start when engine is almost warm, otherwise runs perfectly. Wondered if it was a sensor, like lamda?

Crankshaft sensor - ADU7340 - about £30
