I used diesel plus with my vw tdi and was pleased with it - seemed to run better and a small price to pay for the cleaning/lubrication properties.
Now have a 306 hdi. Someone told me that there's no point putting it in the hdi engine.
Seems rather odd to me.
Any thoughts?

I've used Millers for many years in Tdi and Cdi diesels mainly because I use supermarket fuels. I would probably still use a small amount in most branded fuels as I know from my time in the additives industry they only use a keep clean dose. The exceptions will be the premium fuels such as optimax, ultimate which probably have a clean up dose.
As with all diesels one of the best clean-ups is to regularly give it an italian tune up.

Millers made no difference to my Mondeo TDCi however I use BP Ultimate or Shell etc, it make help if using cheap fuel.
I have said here before it is interesting how similar BP Ultimate smells to Millers, reckon it must be the same Cetane boosters used.

thanks for the advice.
so just to check; there's no type of diesel engine that is incompatible with diesel plus?

mark999: Some still say that diesel is all the same, but I was wondering, as you had insiders knowledge, how many of the suppliers use Lubrizol or similar additive packages, and whether these are added at the refinery, or at the point of delivery?

I'm going back a few years now but Lubrizol were our major competitor.
The additive we suplied was added at the point of delivery. So for ordinary fuels the brand difference was the additives package.
