Another Clio problem - Richie_green
i posted a problem yesterday regarding the oil light on our Clio - well today the engine has begun to turn on us!

The engine sounds a bit noisy , especially when reving at around 2500 rpm. It doesn't sound to healthy - I thought it may be the gearbox but it sounds as though it is coming from the engine.

The oil light has been flickering as we change gear more today, particularly when the engine is disengaged. When idling the car is noisier than normal then it gets worse when we rev. Please help!!!!!

I would not to use it. Untill you have discovered the problem.. Could be oil pump failing/blocked filter/oil pressure valve fault.or blocked oilways.
When was last oil/filter change. And was the correct oil used?

The oil light is trying to tell you that you have low oil pressure.

As Steve.o suggests, stop using the car until you have traced and rectified the problem.

Continuing to run the engine with no, or little oil pressure will not do it any favours - hence the noise you're now hearing.
