I was flicking through the Autotrader today, and couldn't help noticing the vast difference in price between the 99-04 Toledo and the Leon. Is this just down to the Toledo being a saloon, or is it an inferior handling car as well??? The difference in price just shocked me, is all...

Same car, different body styles.
Saloons in the UK have always faired worse than hatches, unless we are talking prestige market (Jag, RR etc where saloon is a a must).
The Toledo has been around since T reg, the Leon W reg so there should be a few more Toledos around, but sales are no where near as strong as the Leon so in fact more Leons are on the road, but they hold better value.
The Leon is the best looker IMHO, but the Toledo V5 with a 170bhp 5 cyl engine, sat nav, leather etc for 4 figures and nearly new has to be a bargain!

You could equally say Vento vs. Golf - the Golf could be up to twice the price of the equivalent Vento.
That said, the Toledo's not nearly as ugly as the Vento.

As a saloon fan I much prefer the Toledo to the leon, much better looking. The Leon looks like someone's cut off the boot. Very ugly. otherwise both are fine cars and i'd quite happily own either.

Anyone know the difference in residuals for the Golf and Bora?
Of course the Golf's going to be higher but by how much?

... so ugly Ford decided to copy it with the new Focus ...
