5 Series Diesel - Dogbreath2
I have been looking for a 525d touring used - 2 years old.

I was surprised that there were not that many around and that most people still seem to opt for petrol.

With prices going up surely the depreciation on the diesel cars is going to be much less....or have I missed something? Do people see these a luxo cars and therefore think they must be petrol?

By the way the 525d at 2 years old is almost the same price as a one year old Accord Tourer 2.2d. Which will depreciate less??

That's strange, the Accord diesel wasn't on the market until late February of this year.

Sorry 9 month old - not 12 month old Accord - you know what I meant

You will find that Tourings, whether 3 or 5 Series are much scarcer than their saloon equivalents and so hold their value much better. To illustrate this point, there are only five 320d SE manuals currently available throughout the whole main dealer network, whereas there are more than 100 saloons. Most of the Tourings are also privately owned so generally get more considerate treatment.
