A work colleague of mine has a 95 N Escort,which has an intermittent starting problem on a morning.
Sometimes it's fine,sometimes it won't play,although when it does and after,say,500 yards,it's ok.
The plugs and leads have just been changed,but still the problem persists.
Any ideas?

Bit vague this, dude.
What does it do when it doesn't start? Dead silence, nothing? Turns over slowly? Turns but won't fire? Fires and stalls out again?
How does it go from not starting to starting? Just by persisting, or does he have to jump it? Get out and push? Get a cup of tea and wait for the AA?
It's fine after 500 yards - so we presume it's not fine for 500 yards - right? In what way is it not fine? Juddery? Stalling? Sounds like an elephant?
Give us a clue :-)
