Rover 214SLI K reg - Peter
During the last oil change, the drain plug proved difficult to remove and I found that the threads had stripped or x-threaded. I have made a temporary repair but another oil change is due soon.

Is there a repair scheme for this problem, do I need a new sump or will a suction pump suffice.

You might be able to get a helicoil insert fitted:

If you can't be bothered then most of the oil will probably come out when you remove the old filter!

Only 250ml max will come out when the filter is removed.

Find a 2nd hand sump, they're cheap enough.
